We explore how running speed affects target-selection performance in extended reality through a Fitts’ tapping task using direct virtual touch. A controlled study with precise motion tracking examines the effects of speed, pointing phase, and foot strike on movement time, error rate, exertion, and task load.

This work investigates in-situ visualisations for running. We analyse 47 papers from 33 Human-Computer Interaction and Visualisation venues, identify six dimensions of a design space, and conduct workshops with 10 active runners to elicit concepts for future immersive running visualisations.

Embedded and Situated Visualisation in Mixed Reality to Support Interval Running

We investigate mixed-reality visualisations for pace tracking during interval running. We introduce and evaluate three immersive visual designs that use the space in front of the runner and the physical environment to communicate pace.
